Day 2 - The most exciting part of my day....
Being a stay at home mom, I don't have many exciting moments. A lot of times, my days are mundane and I am on autopilot. I really DO love staying home. I love getting things accomplished when it's just Sam and I here. And even though it's like Groundhog Day most of the time, there are different times on different days that are exciting.
When I wake up on time and immediately get to do my devotional.
When Sam wants to do a workout with me instead of watching TV in my room.
When Jan gets off the bus and has had a great day at school.
When I get a mid-afternoon call from the hubs.
When, during that call, the hubs says, "Let's order out for dinner."
When my last load of laundry is washed, dried, and put away.
When I wake up to no dishes in the sink (once in a blue moon).
When I get my workout done first thing in the morning.
When Kay calls from college just to say hi.
When Tony tells a hilarious story at the dinner table.
When he hubs gets home from work.
When I cook something really yummy for dinner.
When the kids go to bed (yes, I said it).
When the hubs and I have alone time.
When it's a Grey's Anatomy night.
See....nothing special. Just everyday life. And, to me, it's the most awesome thing in the world.

I joined a 30 day journaling challenge via Facebook, and since I have a hard time figuring out what to write on this basically non-existant blog, I will write them here. I'm already a day behind (great start, right?), so.....
Day 1 "I wanted to embark on this journey because..."
When I was young, I always had a diary. I would write in it religiously....for about 2 weeks, and then I would be bored with it and forget about it. I can't even tell you how many half used notebooks I have from my younger days.
I have a problem with the follow through.
I think something is a great idea, jump in feet first, and then get distracted...bored. I feel like it extends into my daily life. Like the laundry that's been sitting in the washer for three days, or the stack of papers I was supposed to sort through and organize. It drives my husband crazy. I am trying to change that.
It is my hope that having this avenue to be creative, to be honest, will help to get me motivated to stick to other things in my life. Now, don't get me wrong, there are other things that I am committed to. My husband, my kids, my church, and my fitness are all great examples of aspects of my life where I am present...100%. And, let's be honest, those are really important things, right?! But, it's in the day to day where I struggle.
So, here I am. Day 1 of 30 days of journaling. Hoping for a spark in my creativity and a pep in my step into the everyday.
